The large energy consumption of IDC room is the data processing equipment such as server and data memory. The data equipment needs more UPS power supply because of its large power consumption. UPS power supply needs to consume a certain amount of energy in the power conversion, and the power is also lost in the transmission and distribution. Low power is the key to energy conservation and emission reduction in the equipment that can meet the business needs or handle the same storage capacity.
1. Select low energy consumption equipment

2. Select appropriate power supply scheme and equipment
Although IDC room is important, it does not mean that all the equipment in IDC room are equally important and need more than 99.9999% power supply availability. Therefore, it is necessary to distinguish the electric equipment in IDC room effectively and reasonably, formulate different levels of power supply availability and power supply scheme, avoid useless power supply capacity and redundancy of power supply equipment, which not only reduces the investment of power supply system, but also reduces the operation energy consumption.
3. Reasonable layout of UPS power supply and air distribution in machine room
The heating equipment and cooling equipment in IDC room are not one-to-one correspondence, and the heat is taken away by the airflow in the room. Improper layout of machine room and installation of equipment hinder the movement of air flow, reduce the heat dissipation effect and consume more energy; ultra long distance and super strong air supply need more powerful fans and consume more energy. Therefore, the problem of heat balance is not solved by stacking the air conditioning and heating equipment with enough cooling capacity in one machine room.
4. Prevent leakage
The UPS power supply in IDC machine room is not sealed tightly, and the heat insulation effect is not good, which is also the key point of energy consumption. The doors and windows of IDC machine room should be sealed and well insulated. The walls, floors and ceilings should be insulated. Especially in the south, the high temperature period in summer is long, and the heat transferred from the outer wall should not be underestimated.
